Levels of Crime Increasing

A recent report from the SFA has indicated that the level of crime suffered by Irish businesses has increased by 10%. It seems that almost half of all Irish businesses were victims of crime in the past year. These crimes included theft of stock or cash and damage to property.

The cost to a business can be measured in euro but the real cost is often not calculated. Every loss has an impact on the profitability and the future of the business. The upset of theft, the worry of not having stock available, the replacement of items can all have a damaging effect on business. Add to that the mental stress and upset and you have a significant cost to the business owner.

Retail Security

Retailers are particularly hard hit when it comes to theft and that is why the use of CCTV and hidden cameras has increased significantly over the past couple of years. Some of the theft is related to professional criminals but many are opportunists that can be deterred by the sight of CCTV surveillance.

CCTV Protection

CCTV has been around for some time, however, the cameras and technology have become more sophisticated in recent years. For many businesses now is a key time to reassess their current systems and upgrade to a solution that will protect their property, people and product.

An all-round solution that includes access control, monitoring services and even covert surveillance may seem expensive to begin with. However, reducing or eliminating theft, vandalism, assault and more can be priceless. As the criminal becomes more sophisticated, the systems used to protect need to keep up.
